My body image philosophies…

SELF-REFLECTION - You’ve received messages your entire life about who you are and who you should be.  Self-reflection allows you to scrub away the bullshit. It helps you understand and see yourself.

BODY NEUTRALITY/POSITIVITY - Life isn’t black or white. It’s nuanced. The goal is to find a route to unconditionally love your body and yourself. That doesn’t mean you will always like all aspects of yourself - but you can learn to live on the neural-to-positive spectrum.

BABY BEAR STEPS - Embracing yourself doesn't mean not making changes or improvements. The key is to make those changes from a place of self-acceptance, not punishment.

JOY - Life is too serious to take seriously.  Being part of a community, making small changes, and healing can be fun and silly, and meaningful. Find the fun along the way.

COMMUNITY - Finding your community will help you also find yourself. We are social animals. Not because we identify with bears. All humans need support networks to survive and to help mirror who they are.

I’ve created an intentional community where you will feel included and welcomed just as you are. We value you. Period.

Community builds you up. You commiserate, celebrate, lean on, cry with, and laugh with.

As the founder of Belly, he hosts a bear wellness group that offers classes in person in NYC and virtually - like bear yoga, cuddle piles, body positivity workshops, and more.
